Fiziksel açıklama
Wooden tympanum, decorated with calligraphic inscriptions of prayers and religious statements written in Arabic. The calligraphy is oriented around a central radiating pentagon formed by interlocking the repeated words Allah and Muhammad. This pentagonal lettering is flanked by a horizontal inscription in loosely-knotted script, and together they form the phrase âThere is no God but God, [and] Muhammad is the Prophet of Godâ. This relief-carved calligraphy is set against a spiralling scrollwork with serrated leaves, and lotus and prunus flowers. Two lines of a longer text, executed in smaller scale, more angular script and in flatter relief, run along the sloping sides of the tympanum. These are set against half-palmette scrollwork, in lower relief. The outer frame and internal borders are decorated with twisted cable, beading, and plaited motifs.
