A fragment of a dress fabric with silk threads, Iran, 19th century

Fiziksel açıklama
Plain weave cotton embroidered with silk in straight stitches. The embroidery has been cut across the top. There is a narrow band across the bottom with downward pointing blossoms in pinks or yellows outlined with light blue. There are no borders along the sides. The main pattern is a series of diagonal lines from lower right to upper left. These are chevron lines in pink and yellow. There are two sizes of stripes: [1] narrow stripes: a yellow flower alternating with a pink fruit [?] outlined in light blue. [2] wider stripes: black or dark brown ground with a large pansy-like flower in either pinks or pink and 'mushroom' brown separated by a pair of small flowers. Threads: Thick silk, 2S: black/dark brown, white, yellow, light blue, pink, dark pink, light green, blue.
