Malzemeler ve teknikler
Foundation structure 4/1 satin, warp: silk, unplied, ivory. Weft: cotton, ivory. Satin & velvet warp order 3-1-2; Velvet structure: red and green silk, pile counts, warps 12, along weft 14. Binding weft threads: silk, super-skinny ivory. Brocade structure: wholly brocade: whole, 4/1 twill, count 16, shots between pile 2, metal and twist: silver?, S. Tightness of wrap: medium. Two types of metal: very dark metal wrapped around ivory and around bronzy coloured silk. Selvedges: dimensions 2 cm. Satin warp-faced material except for a small band in the middle which has exposed cotton wefts. Possible remains of a customs stamp. This is useful for illustrating the 1 + use of a thread model - note that at the bottom, it starts a point repeat which interrupts the edge. In this case, the rather narrow border is part of the main thread pattern. Silk (Textile) Cotton Weaving
