Fiziksel açıklama
Plain weave cotton, probably hand woven, embroidered with silk in straight stitches with pulled thread work and needleweaving; whitework. The central area has a series of concentric lozenge forms delineated by fine bands of pulled thread work and triangles of straight stitches until the outer two forms which fuse an octagonal form punctuated by small trefoil motifs in straight stitch. The corner units are composed of similar diagonal bands but finish with fan-shapes each with four petals. A narrow needlewoven band of lozenges [a] surrounds this central area, followed by a wider band of needlewoven lozenges interspersed with stepped triangles of straight stitches; the corner junctions have NOT been skillfully managed. A repeat of band [a] forms the outer border. The non-selvedge edges have been rolled and stitched in place. Cotton thread: Z-spun Embroidery Thread: white silk, 2S
