Bowl of reddish earthenware with white slip painted with enamels under a transparent lead-glaze. Shallow foot-ring, grooved beneath. Straight spreading sides turning at a steeper angle half way up. In the middle, in a medallion, is a bird to the left, painted mainly in manganese outlines, with pale salmon-red front and green tail. Surrounded by ornaments outlined in purple and copper-green. Chain ornament round the rim. Outside are vertical green and yellow leaves in purple outlines alternating with strokes.
