Brocaded wool
Fiziksel açıklama
Shawl fragment of woven and brocaded wool, twill binding. White ground with an incomplete pattern. There are scrolling trails made up of leafy segments. These meet at the base of an almost circular blossom which is on a red horizontal line which leads into a large, horizontal floral motif with a green circular centre, feather-like leaves and a yellow pointed top and a green flower and leaves. Warp: white wool, Z-twist. Weft: white, red, yellow, light blue, dark green [or possibly brown] wool, all S-twist; green wool, indeterminable twist and faded purple wool which now looks like a slightly pinkish white and is best seen as an outline next to the dark green/brown.
