Since Roman times, the Eastern Mediterranean region, especially Syria, has been the center of a major resurgence of glass-making technology. Syrian craftsmen also developed glass coloring and decoration techniques and expanded the work to many products. This blow-molded bottle of transparent green glass has a cylindrical body and a narrow, double-convex neck. It represents a well-known type of Syrian production in the late eleventh and twelfth centuries. The bottle is decorated with many pieces of red-brown glass, which are added in the form of parallel horizontal lines at the top and at the bottom of the walls and in a pattern with a line. They are largely refracted between them. The Syrian glass collection in the Khninko Museum contains another bottle of similar shape and size, but with a different decorative material (there are small bubbles added), dating from the late 11th century.
