Notes	This album includes seventy miniature paintings executed in the style of the Mughal court, spread over sixty-six pages. Because these miniatures were created by different artists, they vary markedly in size and execution style. It is assumed that these works were part of a large collection of miniatures acquired by Empress Maria Theresa to decorate the so-called “Millionenzimmer Room”, one of her reception halls in Schönbrunn Palace. It is likely that only part of the original collection was used for decoration, while the remaining miniatures were later collected in two albums: Min. 44 and this album, Min. 64. This hypothesis is supported by the restoration work carried out in the “Room of Millions” in the 1760s, which we know with certainty was carried out by Maria Theresa, as well as the entry of the two albums into the collection of the Imperial Court Library in 1762 AD. The subjects of these miniatures range from delicate court portraits, to pictorial scenes from Persian epics, to classical scenes inspired by Hindu mythology.

Cilt	The brown leather binding was done in a classical style. A golden, double-headed eagle, the coat of arms of the Austrian Empire, is embossed in the centre of both the front and back cover, whilst the spine of the album is embossed with gold ornaments. The binding was expertly crafted in Vienna around 1820 AD.
