Notes
This is a richly presented and gilded manuscript of the five Nizamiyya Fitraz Turkmani paintings produced in Iran in the year 904-5 AH (1498-99 AD). Al-Khamsa is a five-part book written by Abu Muhammad Ilyas Ibn Yusuf Ibn Mu'ayyad (535-605 AH / 1141-1209 AD), known as Al-Nizami, which is one of the greatest romantic poems in Persian literature. It is written in the form of rhymed couplets known as masnafi. The Nizami pentameters consist of a didactic work and four romantic parts, the heroes of which are of historical origin. The stories are as follows: The Storehouse of Secrets - Khosrow and Shirin - Laila and Majnun - The Seven Beauties - The Alexandrnama (the story of Alexander).
