| Notes | This large onion-shaped basin was probably made at the beginning of the sixteenth century in Safavid Persia. It bears the signature of the artist Shazi “Amal Shazi” with an inscription that includes fragments of poetry from the poet Hilali and verses from Halaki Herati, a lesser known poet from Herat, which means that the basin was produced in Herat, which was part of Persia. |
