Notes
A large mosque lamp of glass with an outward edge, a flat bottom, a low base, and six glass rings attached for hanging chains. The lamp is decorated with gilding and enamel, creating a multi-part design. On the upper part of the neck appears a large inscription in prominent blue letters, divided into three sections with circular medallions glorifying the Sultan. It includes the beginning of the verse of light (Sura 24, verse 35): “God is the light of the heavens and the earth. The lower part of the neck bears a band of simple decorations in red and small medallions in blue. The main part of the lamp's body shows a network of overlapping patterns framed in red on a blue background with floral elements. The overlapping network has been left transparent so that the patterns glow when the lamp is lit. The circular medallions on the neck are repeated on the lower part of the lamp in the area above the base.
