Date The beginning of the nineteenth century
Notes The hilt of this sword is decorated with ivory, the crossguard is decorated with large rubies and emeralds, and the blade is decorated with engraved inscriptions that contain the year 1813 AD and the name of Fateh Ali (1797-1834 AD) and after him the ruling Shah. After a long and costly war with Russia, the Shah signed the Guldistan Peace Treaty in 1813. The sword may have been presented to Emperor Franz I of Austria (1768 - 1835 AD) that year in an attempt to build a new alliance with Austria to confront Russia.
