Notes
A decorated bowl, in the center of which is a drawing representing a rababa player. It is a musical instrument with strings, known in Iraq. The ground around the player is filled with the artist's brushstrokes, leaving dots. The edge is decorated with circular shapes. The rababa player appears to us sitting in an Arab position, holding his rababa in his hand, an embodiment of Islamic life. Or as if he was reminiscent of the alcohol drinker who was known among the ruler’s entourage in the West. The image of the player resembles the drawings found on Nishapur ceramics from the same time period, except that he is distinguished by the headdress that was used by the peoples of Türkiye, Mongolia, and Central Asia.
