Notes
The museum includes an important collection of coins from the era of early Islam, including Umayyad dinars similar to these pieces. In the year 77 AH/696 AD, the ruling Caliph Abd al-Malik ordered the issuance of a completely new Islamic currency, which originally carried Quranic inscriptions indicating the oneness and absolute power of God and affirming that Muhammad is the Messenger of God.
