Notes
A piece of fabric decorated with two horizontal stripes separated by an empty space. The decorations of the two bands are identical, representing a yellowish-gold braid on a blue background. The central spaces within the openings of the braid are filled with lightly colored palm leaves on either a red or black background. The braid is surrounded at the top and bottom by two red pens, each of which includes a lightly colored Kufa inscription decorated with gold-coloured swirling patterns, arranged regularly. The outer frame consists of an interlaced, wave-shaped design. The inscription mentions the following phrase: “Victory from God.” Akhmim is located in Egypt on the eastern bank of the Nile River. The linen industry was important there, and Akhmim still produces textiles and traditional industries to this day.
