Notes	This silk dress was discovered in the second half of the nineteenth century in a monastery located in the archaeological region of Oltenia (southwestern Romania), and perhaps in Bistrita, where it was preserved as an ecclesiastical garment. After a hundred years of extensive restoration that took place in the museum, the piece was restored to its original form and was classified as the dress of a woman from the royal court. It can be assumed that the dress was given to the monastery by a family of the ruling court, which testifies to the wealth and elevation of the Roman aristocracy in the sixteenth century because Silk cloth was at that time the most expensive type of Ottoman fabric and was completely covered with silver and gold embroidery threads. The dress features a design of palm wreaths and a green silk cuff, each of which surrounds a circular drawing and a crescent. Between the palm wreath there are circular drawings surrounding a star.
