Notes The detailing of this men's robe is very Mughal, as evidenced by the full riding skirt, the wide hood, the exaggeratedly long sleeves, and the waist belt made of silk threads. The fabric itself is woven with metallic threads, and its design consists of small medallions surrounding deer, lions and lotus flowers. The elite in Mongol society wore this type of luxurious clothing made of gold cloth. Central Asian nomads valued textiles and used them as an expression of power and status.
