Notes
At first glance, this strange vessel, cast and decorated with engraved decoration, looks like a jug. However, judging by its survival to the present day and contemporary engravings and collages, it was most likely used as a reading lamp. Its bulbous body is designed to provide the oil needed for continuous lighting for a long time, and its nozzle is designed to place the wick.
