Notes
This is a curtain that is intended to decorate the garden, as shown in the text in a large medallion at the top. It consists of a hadith of the Prophet (between my mosque and the pulpit of the Rawdah of Paradise) and the same text appears above the mihrab in the Rawdah. It is known that Sultan Muhammad II practiced the art of planning and a number of curtains were ordered by him to be made for the Prophet’s Mosque and bear the form of his pear-shaped signature which states: “Written by the servant Mahmoud Ibn Abdul Hamidkhan.”
