Notes
A pear-shaped jug, with a handle and spout decorated with floral motifs and engraved friezes. The part below the neck is occupied by a frieze written in Naskh script; Directly below it there is another frieze composed of floral patterns. There are additional inscriptions in Naskh script on the neck and mouth of the jug. The floral designs and inscriptions that adorn the ewer are decorated with silver foil. The inscription engraved on the upper frame and mouth, which is decorated with red copper foil, calls the owner of the vessel to glory, prestige, success, and a long life. This ewer is of great importance because it is a historical example of Mesopotamian artistic works, in addition to the fact that its inscriptions mention the names of two Mosul craftsmen.
