Notes
The production of Abbasid ceramics in Iraq shows the great influence of Chinese porcelain, which is found in many pieces in Mesopotamia. The simple elegance of this production is contained in this small bowl whose surface is completely coated with opaque white glaze and is simply decorated with the phrase “Eternal Work” written in elegant Kufic letters in cobalt blue and painted directly over the glaze.
