Notes The piece is a pottery lamp made of two parts: an upper and a lower part connected together by a rim. The lamp is oval in shape, and is decorated with wavy lines and small circles, in addition to the shapes of birds and palm leaves. The lamp's handle is long and ends in the shape of an animal's head, while its base has the shapes of a cup and a fish. There are similar lamps with Arabic inscriptions, some with Greek inscriptions, and sometimes with a cross-shaped decoration.
