Notes These stones were collected from Mecca, from the Valley of the Battle of Badr, the Hira Cave in Jabal al-Nour, and from the Cave of Thawr. These were organized in the form of an ornament presented by the famous Egyptian geologist (and director of the Egyptian Geological Museum) Darwish Mustafa Al-Far (born in 1925) to his professor, the Egyptian scientist Abdel Moneim Muhammad Al-Khalaf, as recorded in one of the two large engraved tablets. The second panel bears the Qur’anic verse referring to the Cave of Hira (Image of Repentance No. 9, verse 40).
