Notes
The Seljuk period was characterized by its extensive use of luster painting techniques – where the piece is painted with metal oxides and then fired in a retort kiln – to produce high-quality ceramics. The high quality is achieved by ceramic artists who create countless vessels, flasks and vases decorated with fine brushstrokes that frame geometric shapes, floral patterns and human figures.
