Notes
The piece is a circular floor mat (safrah) designed with tulips and pomegranate flowers. Around the outer edge there is a narrow border of flowering images, and within this is a wide ring containing large tulips within it, arranged alternately. In the center there is a double circle containing floral images like those in the border. The fabric is mounted on a red velvet background. The design features embroidered elements in red, blue, green, white and yellow on a simple, natural background. There are minor repairs and many spots. The fabric is perforated in the middle.
