Notes
This hand-engraved drawing represents a simplified horse with a majestic appearance, and a rider holding the horse's reins with his left hand, preparing to move to mount his mount. Draw the side view of the animal carefully; The crest is represented by small, slanted lines in the form of rays. The horse's hind leg is raised; The humerus and the function form the Latin letter “V” inverted, while the hashab and the hoof have been completely erased. The drawing of the knight is executed briefly and is not clear. It seems that the artist has begun to draw a person whose torso is facing away, while we see the right leg and head from the side. The latter is turbaned and the face is covered, and the horse is purebred Arab, and this is evident by observing the features of the head and the precision of the neck and limbs. It is a unique drawing of its kind in African (Tunisian) art. The general appearance of the horse and some of its movements are present on an Umayyad disputed cup originating from the city of Elvira in Spain.
