Notes
This rock crystal jug belongs to a small collection that has survived from the Fatimid period. These luxurious pieces were found in large quantities in the treasures of the Fatimid caliphs in Cairo. These treasures were looted in the 1060s, after which the remaining jugs found their way into European churches and were used as containers for psychological relics.
