Notes The open cutout pattern of shaped ovals against a red background. The oval shapes end with specially styled iris flowers that form the transition to the next oval shape. The inner pattern of the cut oval shapes consists of a grid resembling a scale and the sewing lines cut through the repeated pattern and show that the fabric has been remade so that it can form part of this large vestment for the Orthodox ecclesiastical body.
