Notes The piece is a jug with a round, blown shape, a neck that gradually expands outward, and the handle connects the frame with the largest diameter of the body and stops at the thumb rest. The piece is completely covered with a lining of almost white slip clay paint. The frame is indicated by a band lined with black pottery paint. The bowl is decorated with a purple-black inscription band around the largest diameter of the body - which says “Praise be to God” - as well as on the neck and handle. The inscription on the handle reads in the form “God is All-Knowing of Things.” Also on the inner end of the neck we find a short, unreadable graphic decoration. The combination of the widespread shape with the flowery Kufic patterns is unusual and the small jug can be a drinking vessel.
