Notes The magnificent tray stand, made of copper sheets inlaid with silver, displays a decorative scheme entirely dedicated to the glorification of the ruler for whom the stand was made (without mentioning his name). Many decorations appear on the stand, including a drawing representing a king sitting on a throne between two servants, with lions underneath and winged angels above him. The image is surrounded by astronomical symbols to indicate that the ruler’s powers are not limited only to the earth, but also extend to the sky.
