Notes
Painted in earth tones, this bowl features a wide circle of six white and yellow-brown fish “swimming” counterclockwise around its inner edges. The design is completed with a large, overlapping circular shape in the center of the plate in red and white and two edges decorated with inscriptions similar to Kufic script, which may reflect customs, beliefs and ideas prevailing before Islam or astrology.
