Notes
This hollow, molded incense burner is shaped like a bird with a hole in its chest. The decoration consists of engraving and openwork. The seam line is visible on the bird's lower abdomen, meaning it is made up of two halves. The head has the shape of feathers engraved on it. The Kufic pattern on the floor is decorated with spiral/climbing floral patterns that define the transition area towards the shoulders. The square opening in the chest ends with a braided band, and the wings are decorated with perforated scroll decorations, including a braided band. The top of the wings has the shape of a drop, and the lower end is left empty. What is distinctive about this piece are the fully perforated wings and the engraving, and unlike other incense burners, it has a long appeal to the eye.
