| Notes |
This piece of cloth came to the museum's textile collection through the purchase of textile pieces negotiated by the Aachen Canon Franz Bock Company in 1856. The decoration of the piece consists of specially designed flowers and palm leaves. During the Middle Ages, valuable portable items such as fabrics arrived from East to West via trade routes or through diplomatic gifts. The inherited shapes and designs of these fabrics show the influence of different cultures. |
