Notes
A cup with an inward-curved rim of slanted cross-section, a circular mouth, a conical body with a double stem, a low belly, and a vertical handle with an oval cross-section that brings the rim to the belly. The base is flat and the stem is obliquely annular. The decoration was carried out in the partial cuerda seca method, outlining the script with a manganese line, which was then covered with green underglaze. Although the text is incomplete, we can read in it in the following script: “Baraka kamil [and] amma sha [mullah], which is a sentence not accompanied by subordinate forms. This mug is considered one of the oldest pieces preserved in Mertola and is decorated with the partial dry cord method (cuerda seca), and its decorative and layout style is distinct from the rest of the pieces dating back to the 6th century AH / 12th century AD. A restored piece.
