The contents of the manuscript are mainly from a history of the world prepared by Rashid al-Din (died 1318) for the Mongol ruler Ilkhan Oljetu in 1920. 1307. It is not simply a copy of Rashid al-Din's work but a hybrid manuscript with a more complex history. This page comes from one of the most intensely illustrated passages, a passage that also helps reveal the origins of the work: Rashid al-Din was probably not the original author.
