Notes
This powder flask shows a felid attacking a bull, an ancient Middle Eastern emblem symbolizing a strong ruler defeating his weak opponent. At the time this piece was created, the Persian army had been undergoing a European-style renovation for some time. Accordingly, it is possible that this piece was not made for actual use, but rather was created as an artistic masterpiece that bears witness to historical events.
