Notes
Circular shaped dish "Quenco", medium dimensions and slightly cracked surface line, painted in maroon on a white background with metallic luster (metallic reflections). This dish belongs to the Persian style “bardalo” series; The central subject of its decoration consists of an abstract bird surrounded by floral motifs. The bird is squeezed into a space defined by three equidistant lines from the centre, alternating with bands of webbing. The edge of the plate is round and highlighted by a continuous wide band surrounding it and elongating towards the back. The back side of the plate is devoid of decoration, but on it are presented flows resulting from the volatilization of metal oxides during the baking process in the oven. We can distinguish three “warts” in it, spaced equally apart from each other, which are traces of an ancient tripod. Tableware of this type are imitations of pieces of metal, but they can be considered luxury antiques.
