Notes A cup with an ivory white stem, featuring a tile scene depicted in the centre. A prince sits on a throne with a high seat, and two hawks stand around him. The prince was surrounded by two courtiers, and at his feet were two peacocks facing each other, symbols of royalty. Around the central figure are pairs of Ascorian sphinxes separated by small medallions. On the inner edge of the plate, we can read supplications written in Kufic script, and inside is a semi-Kufic inscription on a background of arabesque decoration.
