Notes
This elegant bowl represents the high-quality metalwork produced in Iraq after the establishment of Mongol rule. It shows six circular figures depicting crowned knights, the design of which was inspired by contemporary miniature painting. They are arranged in an alternating arrangement with large decorative cartouches showing fanciful Thuluth-style inscriptions.
