Notes
This small jar-shaped bowl covered with glaze is made from thin, well-baked clay dough. It was used as a drinking vessel. Its interior is slightly oval and marked, at its base, with a protruding protrusion, above a foot, of small diameter and low height, which provides it - the vessel - with some stability. Its vertical neck, which ends with a wide mouth, is surrounded by two small round lugs hanging at the top of the hollow. The effects of molding appear in the form of horizontal rings that incise the cavity. The neck, lugs and lower part of the neck were covered with dark manganese paint. The neck is decorated with a frieze consisting of small incised circles and defined by two beveled lines, while two medallions decorated with simplified floral decorative elements are drawn on the neck, separated by bilateral and diagonal horizontal lines, surrounded by other straight decorative elements that imitate decorative inscriptions. This vessel, with its innovative shape and the way it is decorated (painting and incision), is distinctive of ordinary pottery dating back to the Almohad period.
