| Notes | This exquisite floor mat is woven on a loom and has large appliqués, overlapping diamond borders and a pair of brown reeded bands. The inscriptions are written in Kufi script and contain congratulations with details about the composition of the work, which names Tiberias as a place of production. Such floor coverings were made for residential and religious places and were probably used during prayer. |
