Notes
Like most of the most valuable rugs in the collection, this Safavid-era silk hunting rug was originally owned by the Imperial House of Austria. According to its precision, shapes and size, it is one of the most famous carpets in the world. It was definitely obtained from the Safavid court, but how it reached the Austrian court is not known in full detail.
