Notes When Ferdowsi's poetic epic (The Shahnameh) (Book of Kings) was completed in 1010, it tells the history of all the Shahs of Iran until the Arab invasion in 642 AD and the country adopted the religion of Islam. It has inspired countless works of art including the breathtaking Shahnameh (Shahnameh) and produced for Shah Tahmasp (r. 1524-76), the second Shah of the Safavid dynasty. This page AKM163 (page 402 right) from Shahnameh Shah Tahmasp denotes the exceptional courage and strength of Goshtasp, son of Shah Lourasb.
