Notes
This crucible is of particular interest because of its decoration and the overall shape resembles a small bowl or khalqin (pot for heating water or liquids). Around the frame there is a simple zigzag decoration that appears to be completely worn away. The inner surface is smooth, but on the outer surface the base is slightly drawn and then flattened to form the foot. Its long open mouthpiece/gutter is noteworthy. At the back and on the sides there are three large flanges that have carved decorations. It is shaped like a teardrop, with two bird heads on each end protruding from it. Only the eyes of the bird's head and wings are at the back and appear through the sculpture. The side shapes show Solomon's knot in the middle while the shape at the back features blooming flowers. Each flange head has a small protrusion, known as the Khorasan type, as it includes similar pieces with many flanges on three sides. Another similar piece is on display by Géza Fahrvari but described as a lamp.
