Notes
This tomb lid is made up of three large bright tiles, all covered with a relief cobalt outline. This tripartite panel is supposed to form the upper surface of a stone sarcophagus marking the burial place of Imam Jafar's daughter. As a descendant of the Imam, her grave is known as Imam Zada (in Persian: born of the Imam). During the Ilkhanid dynasty (1256-1353) in Iran, the Shiites of Imam Zada preserved some of the finest court work ever created.
