Notes This vessel, with a spherical hollow, cylindrical neck, two handles, and a ring base, was used as a drinking vessel. The neck and upper part of the neck are painted with brown manganese oxide paint, inscribed with decorative elements. Repetitive decorative elements are grouped into a frieze on the neck and on the upper part of the hollow. Horizontal and vertical dividing lines were drawn on the neck, and a decorative element was a braid known as the “eternal braid.” A semi-scriptural decorative element underlines the name “Allah”, decorated with floral motifs and surrounded by a scattered horizontal spiral panel and small painted discs. This type of decoration is reminiscent of metalwork and is a distinctive feature of Almohad production in Morocco and Andalusia.
