Notes
Throughout the ages, women in Syria have been interested in gold and silver jewelry to decorate and beautify themselves and also as a form of financial security. Many gold pieces have been found in archaeological sites, such as bracelets worn on the wrist, upper arm, or foot, clasps, earrings, rings, and others. This piece is a gold jewelry attached to the chest with a pin. It is in the shape of an inverted heart made of hollow gold fabric, with very small rings on its edges, on each of which is hung a chain that ends in the shape of a ball, a bird, a crescent, or a knot, all of which are made up of woven golden threads.
