Notes
A newspaper coated with a compound of glass and tin oxide, bearing a simplified drawing of an animal similar to a kangaroo, with a pine cone behind it. The design of the cup goes back to an Islamic source. As for the small city of Paterna in Valencia, it is known not only as one of the most important centers for the production of simple, undecorated pottery, but it is also famous for the manufacture of ceramics painted with a compound of glass and tin oxide, colored green and brown. This plate is made by the Mudejar potters of Spain, who live in Paterna.
