The jar is covered with a bluish-green glaze with iridescent areas. Details such as the shape of the rope, the multiple stands, the color of the glaze and the thick walls indicate the ancient nature of the jar and allow us to date it to the years before Sassanid rule and the rise of the Islamic Empire. Muslims drew heavily from the cultural heritage of the peoples whose lands they conquered and gradually integrated local traditions within the larger framework of Islamic civilization.
