Notes
This felt hat could have been worn as a head covering by Turkish brides. The bride's headdress (kulah) was always red in color and, depending on the social rank of the bride, was decorated with silver and gold threads and small metal plates. The veil (dovac) was attached to the top of the hat with a pin decorated with jewelry.
